PROFILE

Fashion and Jewelry Designer Mariko Kunitomo was born in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture and currently resides in Yokohama City. She graduated from the Bunka Fashion College with a degree in Apparel Design. After working as a designer for a domestic apparel manufacturer, she moved to England and spent three and a half years in London. While in the U.K., she began making her own work, which she sold at the Brick Lane Sunday Market and in stores on consignment. She also participated in a fashion show at the London School of Economics. After returning to Japan, she continued to make her own works while working as a designer for an apparel company, and continues to create both new design in clothing,  jewelry, and shoes, even as she became a mother in 2020.

茨城県日立市出身、横浜市在住。文化服装学院アパレルデザイン科を卒業。国内アパレルメーカーでデザイナーを務めた後、渡英。ロンドンにて3年半を過ごす。在英中に自らの作品を作り始め、ブリックレーンのサンデーマーケットや、店舗委託にて販売。ロンドンスクール・オブ・エコノミクスのファッションショーにも参加。帰国後も、アパレルメーカーでデザイナーをしながら作品作りを続け、2020年に母となった今も作品を生み出し続けている。
